Fun Color Quiz

I found this fun color quiz online. I did a terrible job! The goal is to put the colors in order by hue. My score was 53. I like to think that my monitor isn't very good, but I think that is just an excuse. Take the quiz and let me know how you do!

Brookly Bridge

As promised, I'm going to start posting some of the photos from our trip to New York. I'm going to do this in batches so that I don't have to edit all of the photos all at once. These are the photos that I took as we were walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. It really is an amazing engineering masterpiece.

Recent Canvas Projects

These are some canvases that I made the weekend before last. I haven't had a chance to upload them to Etsy yet, but I'm hoping to do that tonight after I get home from church.

These were fun to make! I love how the dictionary stripes worked out. I think they look pretty cool. :) I might have to make some for myself. I think they would go good in my kitchen. I have one more in a burgundy color that I haven't finished yet.

I hope to post some pictures from our trip to NY this weekend. I need to get my computer cleared off so that I have some room for some more photos. Hopefully I find some time this weekend to do that!

Blog Feature!

Kathy from Catnip Studio recently featured me on her blog. Included in the feature are artists who are going to be selling their goods on Lollishops this winter. I can't wait for this store to open! The preview photos from the items that are going to be sold are beautiful! Here is the link to the Lollishops blog with some photos.

Thanks Kathy for featuring me!

3 posts in 1 day!!

Wow, I'm really on a role! I decided to post a couple of projects that I've been working on in the last week. We are taking a quick trip to NY City this week and I don't think I'm going to be able to post much before we get back. I have a couple more projects that I finished yesterday, but I haven't gotten a chance to photograph them. Hopefully I'll get it done before we leave!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

2 Posts in One Day!

I just wanted to share the rest of the photos of our "Vacation in your own city." I thought these were really cool and look like they came from the 70s. They were taken in the elevator in the parking garage. The mirrored ceiling was really cool.

This one was taken right in the light, so it didn't turn out.

I liked this one the best. Cool stuff

Vacation in your own city!

The last 3 summers in a row the main group of friends that we hang out with have gone to Twins games in various towns within driving distance. This year we decided to just do a vacation in our own city. At first we had some grand plans and ideas, but it ended up that we only really did a couple of activities.

One of the rules for our group is that when we eat out, we have to go to places that aren't chain restaurants. Last Saturday we all met at the Midtown Global Market where we each had our choice of almost any ethnic food we could imagine. Jeremy and I had our friends from St. Louis, Angela and Travis Torblaa, stay with us the night before and we had a HUGE breakfast, so unfortunately we weren't very hungry. This however did not hamper me from eating off everyone else's plates! I had pita bread and hummus, baklava, french fries, and a taste of a tamale! On our way our Jeremy and I got coffee.
These are yummy looking muffins from a pastry shop:
These are heart-shaped pastries that were at the place where we got our coffee. They looked a lot better in the case. Now that I've downloaded the photo I think they kind of look like human organs???
Flowers outside the market.

After eating we headed to the Twins game. It was a bobblehead give away day, but we didn't get there in time to get one, so the girls just sat out on the plaza and did some people watching.
There were a lot of people at the game!
The Twins got behind, but there was a chance to tie it in the 9th. The boys put on their rally caps and the girls put on our "rally sunglasses." (Like this shot of my double chin? Jeremy was about 1.5 feet from my face) Unfortunately The Twins didn't win.

I have a couple more photos from the day that I'll share in my next post. Time has gotten away from me and I need to get ready for church! Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

ETSY FRONT PAGE!!

I made the front page of Etsy again! This time I actually saw myself live on the front page when I was at work. I must have caught the tail end of it because as soon as I went to a different website and came back I was gone.

Quick Update

This week is really busy for us but I thought I'd quickly mention that Jessica mentioned me on her blog! Check it out here: Blog Thanks Jessica!

Also, today in the mail Fed Ex brought me my birthday present!! Here it is:

I can't wait to start playing around with it. For the last couple of years I have just had the kit lens and I am so happy to have this new one!
I hope everyone is having a great week. I hope to have a more lengthy, more interesting post soon!

State Fair

I just thought I'd post some quick pictures of the State Fair.

Dad bought a whole bucket of Sweet Martha's Cookies and then we headed over to the all you can drink milk stand. It was so cold and foamy! Yum! I was pleased that they also had chocolate milk. :)

I really didn't get a good shot of the crowd, but hopefully this will give you a sense of just how many people were there.

I think my favorite part was the Miracle of Birth Barn. These new piggies were so cute! A couple of them decided to get into a fight and they ran around and around the pen!

This little guy was only a couple of days old! He was so cute!

I hope you all had a good long weekend! I can't believe tomorrow is Wednesday already!
