Restaurant Reviews

I went out with Karin and Melissa last night. We decided to go to McCoy's Public House in St. Louis Park. It turned out to pretty good! We went right after work, so we got in on the happy hour specials. I got magharita pizza and Karin got huge handmade pretzels as appetizers. Both were only $3.99, so we decided to try them out. It turned out that my pizza was a full-sized pizza and her pretzels were huge as well. We could have probably had them for our whole meal!

We did decide to order full-sized meals. I got the smoked salmon club with sweet potato fries, Melissa got the applewood smoked chicken and Karin got the pot roast. We were all very pleased with our selections.

The is the second time that the three of us have gone out to eat (the first was Red Lobster...hilarious!). We brought up the idea of making this a regular occurrence. We would like to check out restaurants that we have never been to and then rate the food. We talked about starting a separate blog and rating the restaurants, but we thought that would get to be a little too silly. :)

I stole most of these pictures from Karin's Facebook page, so I hope she doesn't get mad at me! I think that when you post them to FB the size is reduced, so that's why they are so tiny. The one picture of my plate was taken with my new phone. I don't know how the quality is going to be, but I didn't have any other camera!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Leave me a comment on your plans for the weekend!

Sunday Outside

Sunday I got the notion to do some weeding. It ended up that I was outside for 4 hours! I got a lot done and the yard looks really nice! Jeremy is going to be so proud of me!
When I was finishing up I was weeding around a lavender plant that is growing by our front door. I decided to pick some of it and put it in a glass so that it would smell good in the house for awhile (I have no idea if this is what you do with lavender or not??? I didn't feel like drying it at the moment) I thought that the glass looked good sitting by the chair on my front porch, so I took some pictures of it.

When I had my camera in my hand I heard some buzzing behind me. I saw that there was a bee on the lavender!

I think I need a better lens. This was a little too close for comfort! I was seriously really close to this bee!

Minneapolis Farmer's Market

Yesterday my mom, sister and I went to the Minneapolis Farmer's Market. I am always amazed at how huge it is! There are so many fun colors, smells and interesting people at the market. Below are a couple of the photos that I took while I was there.

We found some really good deals on fruits and vegetables! We all got a lot of strawberries and we are going to make jam. Mom and Esther also got a lot of blueberries.

I always love the varieties of flowers that they have for sale. This time of year they also have a lot of potted plants and flowers that are ready to be planted in your yard. A lot of people had plants really cheap because it is their last day to sell them for the season.

Esther, always looking for a deal, found this whole thing of potatoes for $3.00! She also got some fresh dill and she is going to make roasted potatoes with dill.

New Projects

I had the day off yesterday so I got just a couple of simple projects done. It was fun to have no pressure to get things done or posted. I focused yesterday on using up some of the things that I had laying around. It was good to use up some scraps. I posted these on Etsy tonight.

Long Weekend Update

This is going to be another photo-less post. I haven't downloaded my photos yet and I don't really want to get the camera out right now...

Thursday night we went to the Bloomington fireworks with my family and the Rachacs. There were a lot of festivities, food and a couple of different stages with music before the fireworks began. It was fun to just sit and visit with everyone. We were wondering how Noah would do because he has never seen fireworks. At first he hid under a blanket, then he started to enjoy them and then when it was the grand finale he hid again. I think he enjoyed them, but he hasn't talked about them since.

Friday we went to Andrea and Eric's house in Amery, WI. We drove up to Karin and Trevor's house to ride with them and on the way we stopped at Sonic. For those of you who live in Minnesota, you know how much of a big deal this is. Sonic JUST came to the Twin Cities. There have been lines over 3 hours long! Luckily we got right in the drive thru and it only took about 20 minutes to get our food. The food was good, but I don't think it would have been worth waiting 3 hours.

We had a great time at Andrea and Eric's! We played games, ate and played with the kids. It was fun to see them because we don't get to see them as much as we would like with them living in Amery. Macy who is 2 also enjoyed the fireworks. At first she hid her head under the blanket while she was sitting on my lap. She kept on saying, "They are so pretty, Becca!" I kept telling her that she couldn't see how pretty they were if her head was under the blanket! After awhile she peeked out and then she realized that she loved them.

We drove home after the fireworks and didn't get home until 2:15 am! That is really late for old people like us. We slept until almost noon and it has really thrown us off for the last couple of days.

The rest of the weekend has been spent doing what we normally do...church, hanging out with my family, scrapping, etc. We both had today off from work. I have been home the whole day getting some stuff done and Jeremy did some errands.

That's my recap of the weekend. It was the perfect mix of relaxing and having fun. Tomorrow we are back to work. It will be nice only having to work 4 days this week. Hope you all have a great week!

Last weekend

I'm a little behind on my posting, but I just wanted to share some of the fun stuff that we did last weekend. Friday night we drove to Jeremy's grandma's house in Cannon Falls and picked her and Katie up for supper at Gopher Hills along with Jeremy's parents. Jeremy's grandparents used to have their farm on the land where the golf course stands. It is so beautiful! We went for the Friday Night Fish Fry and it was wonderful!

We stayed over night at Jeremy's grandma's house and in the morning we headed to do some shopping in Cannon Falls. We hit the Cannon Falls Antique Mall and I found a couple of old photos for some cards. We then headed to Northfield which is about 15-20 minutes away from Cannon Falls. We had lunch at Bittersweet Eatery -sandwiches and soup.

Then we just walked around the town. One of my favorite stores in the town was Digs. If I was a sewer (seamstress?) I would have gone crazy. This store is so cute! There were also lots of fun things for paper crafters such as fun flowers, ribbons and such. For some reason I really wasn't in the mood to spend money, so I didn't buy anything. Here are some fun photos from the store:

I love all of the creative displays! Everything is so colorful and inviting. There was a bag there that I almost bought, but I really don't need a new purse quite yet, so I didn't buy it.

After shopping we headed back to Cannon Falls to fix supper. Jeremy's parents joined us and we had a great meal!

That's all I have to share for now. I hope to be updating the blog more often and I am hoping that my next post will be about out activities this weekend.

Ode to Tessa and Barb

This blog post is dedicated to Barb and Tessa. Mother and daughter who both reminded me on the same day that it has been two weeks since I've last updated my blog!

One of the main reasons...or excuses I have is that my camera takes a really long time to download my photos. My Powershot is a lot faster than my Rebel. I use the Rebel most of the time, so posts are few and far between. If anyone wants to buy me a card reader or get me a new, faster computer that would be great. I hope to try to back up some of my photos soon and hopefully that will get me a little more speed.

I did download some photos tonight, but these have been on my camera for a long time. This is going to be total randomness!

Remember, this is all for you Barb and Tessa!

Our driveway as we were re-doing our rocks. They had lots of weeds in them, so we pulled them all out and washed them off and put them back...sorry, I don't have an "after" picture right now.

This is Lena. She's my friend Sara and Eric's daughter. I was watching her one night at church and took a couple of shots.

The three above photos are from Highland park when we took a little walk for memorial day. Noah and Esther loved going down the big slide!

We went to Iron Man with Karin and Trevor and there was this display outside the theater. Even though we won't be seeing this movie, we thought the display was kind of funny.

This is Melissa and I at one of the first Twins games. Go Twins!! They are starting to do really well. They have actually won the last 9 games in a row!

We went to the mall to get free Ben & Jerry's awhile back and I thought it was funny that this guy from GNC closed his store to walk down to the ice cream stand and then he sat outside the store eating his ice cream.

We ate our ice cream and Noah wanted to play at the play area, so here we are dancing on the "bridge."
This is my mom trying on glasses. We took pictures of the ones that she liked so that she could remember what they looked like.

Finally, these are the new planters outside Jeremy's work. I'm trying to figure out how to do these inside.

Ok, that's my random post. I'll hopefully have a better post here soon. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Being Creative

Last weekend I was able to work a lot on Friday and Sunday and I actually got a lot done!! I made 32 cards total, 8 sets of 4. Some of these are very similar to cards that I have made before and have sold out of.

Sometimes I try to be funny, but I just don't know if people get my weird sense of humor. This might be the case with the last two cards. If I'm totally off-base with these two, let me know! I need to not look like a fool. :)

Thanks for visiting! Hope you all are having a good week!

A Whole Week???

It just can't be a whole week since I've posted??? Last week went by so quickly! I worked Monday thru Thursday and took Friday off because Esther and I thought we were going to have a garage sale. However, the weather decided to take a nasty turn on Thursday night, so we are postponing it until next weekend. This week I'll have the same schedule hopefully taking Friday off again for the sale.

Friday I got some housework done, mailed some Etsy stuff and worked on some more cards. We were going to go to Karin and Trevor's house for a game night, but we had too much stuff to get ready for Saturday, so we stayed home.

Saturday we got up early and got some stuff done and headed to Wisconsin for the Nelson reunion at Jeremy's Uncle's cabin. We spent pretty much the whole day there enjoying the food, lake and company. Jeremy and Matt tried to catch fish off the end of the dock, but Jeremy didn't get any. After we got home Jeremy's dad called and said that they caught so many that they stopped counting! Jeremy was bummed that he didn't get any.

Today we went to church at King of Glory in Eden Prairie because Jason was preaching there (plus they start a little bit later and we wanted to sleep in a little bit ;) After that we went to Ruby Tuesday where Nathan works for lunch. He got us a little bit of a discount. After we came home I sat in my chair and made cards for the rest of the day. It has actually been a very productive weekend - I made 8 sets of 4 cards each, so I have a total of 32. I need to photograph them and then they will be ready to hit Etsy and hopefully the blog and also flickr.

That about sums up what has been going on for the last week. I need to try to start posting more often! Thanks to everyone who reads my stuff even though I don't post very often! Have a great week!

That's my good news for the day!

BTW, that is my card, 3rd box from the top on the right. Or you can see it here.
